Walk Down Memory Lane: My Time in Paris

The final 4 days of our trip was spent in Paris.

David and I spent our last morning at the D’Orsay museum savoring the paintings of Monet, Manet, Cassat, Pissarro, Cézanne and many other Impressionists.  It was a trip down memory lane for me as I had walked those same big halls of art with my mother, Mary Jean Place, art historian extraordinaire, and Gail Stoops my art teacher, in 2004.  Both whom have now transitioned out of my life to energies beyond. I miss them.

In the afternoon we, in the company of Adele, we rode the Metro out to Saint-Germain-en-Laye where my mom had lived for 2 years (2004-2005).  We found her lovely little cottage using memory and intuition. Sweet and sad emotions mixed with the memories of sharing this magical place with people who are no longer in my life were very present as we stood in the doorway of Mom’s cottage. Glad to have returned with Adele and David. We walked the center of Saint Germaine wandering in and out of shops, eating at a creperie and eventually ending up in the tree lined park next to Louise XIV’s palace of his birthplace. Took a walking meditation through the trees, rested under some elms and did a yoga pose dedicated to trees. Tree baths are healing for the body and mind. We emotionally and physically felt calmer and at peace after our forest walk and rest under the green canopy.
